How to Arrange 3 Prints Above a Bed

Three personalised olive football prints arranged above bedroom furniture

Three coordinated prints are one of the easiest ways to finish a child’s bedroom without making the wall feel crowded. The arrangement works above a bed, chest of drawers, desk or reading corner, and it is simple to adapt as the room changes.

Start with the furniture, not the wall

Use the bed or furniture below the artwork as your visual boundary. The complete group of prints should feel connected to that furniture rather than floating independently across the wall.

As a practical starting point, aim for the full arrangement to occupy roughly two-thirds to three-quarters of the width of the bed or unit beneath it. This is a flexible visual guide rather than a strict measurement.

Choose the right print size

For a shelf, small desk or compact wall, A5 or 5 × 7 inch prints keep the arrangement light. A4 or 8 × 10 inch prints suit many standard children’s bedrooms and are an approachable starting point. A3 or 11 × 14 inch prints create a stronger feature, while A2 works best where there is generous clear wall space.

Before ordering, mark each frame position with low-tack paper or masking tape. Stand back from the doorway and the bed to check the overall scale.

Use equal spacing

For three prints in one row, keep the gaps consistent. A spacing of approximately 5–10 cm often feels balanced, depending on the frame width and wall size. The exact distance matters less than keeping every gap equal.

If the wall is narrow, use a vertical arrangement. For a wider room, a horizontal row usually creates the calmest result.

Keep the centre print meaningful

The middle position naturally receives the most attention. Place the personalised name or shirt print in the centre and use the two supporting sports designs on either side. For a non-personalised set, place the most detailed or highest-contrast design in the middle.

Hang the group at a comfortable height

Think of all three frames as one piece of artwork. Position the centre of the complete group near normal eye level, then adjust for the furniture below. Leave enough breathing room so that pillows, toys or lamps do not visually collide with the bottom of the frames.

Always use fixings that suit the wall type and keep heavy frames securely away from where a child sleeps or plays.

Choose a colour palette that can grow with the room

Olive, navy, grey and warm neutral shades work particularly well because they can sit alongside natural wood, white, black or coloured frames. Repeating one colour from the bedding, rug or storage helps the wall art feel intentional.

Physical prints or digital downloads?

Physical prints arrive professionally printed and ready for you to frame. Digital downloads are files for printing yourself. Decide which format you want before ordering, as they are different products.

When should you choose six or nine prints?

A set of three works well for a focused display above one piece of furniture. Choose six prints when you want to cover a larger wall or create two rows. Choose a set of nine for a complete gallery-wall feature.

A simple planning checklist

  • Measure the bed or furniture below the prints.
  • Mark the frame outlines before drilling.
  • Keep the gaps equal.
  • Place the strongest or personalised design in the centre.
  • Check the arrangement from the doorway.
  • Use suitable, secure wall fixings.

With a little measuring, a set of three creates a clear focal point without overwhelming the room.
